SmartBoard resources for primary grades K-5

First Grade Backpack-Reading holds many online stories, poems, interactive games, phonics activities and much more. It would be great for kids to use independently or for teachers to use with SmartBoards. It is designed for first grade, but it could really be appropriate for any primary grades, and would be great for ELL students.

Topmarks Education's Interactive Whiteboard Resource website contains one of the best websites for teaching resources which work well on interactive whiteboards in the classroom.

Worthwhile Websites for Learning is another really good website to share with teachers so they can tell their students/parents about these great resources. It's a fantastic collection of websites for students and parents (grades K-6). Division 1 sites are K-3 and Division 2 sites are 4-6.

Amphi SmartBoard Rubric is an assessment tool to determine a teacher's proficiency level with using the SMART Board.

Funbrain - (6-8) This site includes many games, interactive activites, and flash cards.

Illuminations - (6-12) This site is by NCTM and has tons of Math activities and manipulatives that are aligned with national standards. This has quality resources that are searchable by grade level.

Internet4Classrooms - (6-8) This site is searchable by grade level and also subjects. It organizes connections to many good interactive sites. It includes skill building and skill reinforcement activities.

PhET - (6-12) This site has many very good interactive simulations related to Science and Math. The site is searchable by grade level as well as subject. It is a wonderful resource.

ReadWriteThink Interactives - (6-12) There are tons of searchable interactives related to Literacy. This is a quality resource which is part of Thinkfinity.

Thinkfinity - (6-12) This is a quality resource for all kinds of activities found within any subject, even non-core subjects. This link goes directly to the search engine for all subjects. You can click on the interactives area to find resources which you can use with the Mimio.

Virtual Manipulatives Library - (6-12) This site has interactive manipulatives indexed by grade level and content strand within Math.
